What can a Taiwanese expect within the Chinese American Community?

So I'm a Taiwanese American who spent most of my life in Taiwan (from age 5 onward), and I'm planning to go to America for University soon.

Now, I just wanted to ask how I would be treated by the Chinese American community, and whether or not it's going to be respectful, because my experience with Chinese people is limited.

Will they respect my identity, or will there be harassment?

I have no problem with the Chinese people themselves, just trying to know what to expect yk
