Can I switch from CSR to Data Analytics/Finance?

Hi everyone,

I’m 1.5 years into my career as a CSR Analyst. My work involves collecting and analyzing CSR data, building environmental and social dashboards, conducting carbon footprint assessments, and working on environmental projects such as waste management.

I have a degree in environmental studies, but I’ve been teaching myself data analytics. I started with Excel, then learned Power BI, and I’m currently learning SQL and Python.

The more I work with data, the more I enjoy it. Recently, I’ve also started learning about finance and find it very interesting. My company may even give me an opportunity to work on finance-related projects.

My main questions are:

- Is it realistic to move into Data Analytics from my background?
- Can I succeed in finance analytics without a finance degree?
- Are there good opportunities in Morocco and internationally?
- How difficult is it to get remote jobs in data analytics or finance analytics?
- What skills should I focus on next?

I’d appreciate any advice from people who have made a similar career switch.

Thanks!
