Where to get a nice bicycle/mountain bike from?

Hi guys, I am trying to up my cardio game as well as enjoy the summer nights more so am actively looking for a bicycle/bike which doesn't cost me an arm and a leg. Please give reccomendations that are personally tried and tested. Thanks!
