Time to wipe out the old camp

Hi guys,

I want to wipe out and loot the god damn old camp.

Since you can screw up your entire save file with a single careless move in this game, I wanted to ask when the perfect time to do that is.

When can I wipe out and loot the camp without jeopardizing my progress?

Thanks in advance!
