Various Artists (2026) [Stop-Motion, Short Film Anthology]

Hey everyone, I love stop-motion and claymation, so I wanted to share my quick thoughts on three recent 2026 releases you can watch online, along with how the Letterboxd community is rating them!

1. Everkeep (2026)

Where to watch: YouTube Letterboxd Rating: ~3.8/5 My Take + LB Consensus:

Directed by Nakisa Sanai, this one follows a lonely girl trapped in an enchanted castle's garden to escape aging. Heads up for horror fans: it is more of a melancholy, gothic dark fantasy/fable than pure horror. Letterboxd users absolutely rave about the stunning set design, costumes, and dreamlike metaphors for growing up, even if it lacks traditional scares.

2. A Thousand Bombs in My Belly (2026)

Where to watch: YouTube Letterboxd Rating: 3.9/5 My Take + LB Consensus: A devastating 10-minute masterpiece by Labros Kordolemis. It masterfully blends the real-world trauma of war with psychological horror through the eyes of an orphaned child. The claymation gives a grotesque, tactile weight to the scenes. Letterboxd reviews highly praise the suffocating, bleak atmosphere and the incredible sound design. Must-watch.

2. Cosmic Crash (2025/2026)

Where to watch: YouTube (splittershot) Letterboxd Rating: ~3.7/5 My Take + LB Consensus: Clocking in at just under 2 minutes, this award-winning short packs a massive punch. An alien crashes and releases total chaos. Letterboxd users are calling it "John Carpenter's The Thing meets Pingu." It is wet, squishy, ultra-violent, and incredibly nostalgic for classic indie claymation. Pure, unadulterated splatter fun.

LOVEE THIS 3
