Vitamin D deficiency — what changed after you corrected yours?

General Question

I just got my blood test results back and my Vitamin D 25-OH was 17.7 ng/mL, so definitely low/deficient.

I have a doctor’s appointment next week to go through everything properly, but my doctor has already prescribed vitamin D2 50,000 IU once weekly for 12 weeks, then said I’ll switch to D3 for maintenance after that. I’ll also be getting another blood test in about 3 months to recheck my levels.

For people who found out they were vitamin D deficient and then corrected it or brought their levels up, what differences did you actually feel or notice ... like energy? Mood? Aches/pains? Sleep? Immune system? Skin/hair/nails? Anything else?

Also curious what dose of D3 people used to maintain their levels afterward. I have D3 1,000 IU to take after the D2 course ... is that typically taken daily for maintenance?

Not looking to replace medical advice, just interested in real experiences before I talk to my doctor next week.
