Staying at artist residency in Tuscany

Hello, I awarded an artist residency and I will be staying with my mother about 1 hour drive west outside of Florence. We are renting a car and staying for two weeks, and would love any recommendations for two artists (art galleries, museums, art supply stores, beautiful places off the beaten path.)

Also, I’m nervous about driving and was curious about any guides for driving tips! I am aware it is easy to get fines for driving on incorrect roads in Florence. I will be getting my international drivers license as well. Thank you!
