I'm hurt and don't know what to do
I've been going to castlefest for years to volunteer behind the bar and to clean the toilets. I love this festival so much, I've met friends from abroad here and spent so much time with my friends.
This year, for the first time, I'm going as a visitor rather than a volunteer. I emailed the organisation because I know the line to get in is really long, and because I'm disabled. Now, don't get me wrong, I do not care at all about having to wait to get in like everyone else. My specific problem is that I cannot stand for a long time. Any other lines would not be a problem since I'm going with a friend.
To find some help, I emailed the organisation to see if there's anything they could do to help me. For context, in Dutch theme parks there is a seperate line where you can sit down, where people wait an equal amount of time as the normal line, so I didn't think this would be a problem for the staff. The emails I got back wanted a ton of info on my disability, even though they stated it was illegal to ask. I think I must've sent 10 emails over a period of 1.5-2 months, and just got back the final answer about 2 weeks ago.
They don't want to help me because they think too many other festival visitors would abuse this system.
I feel hurt because I've poured so much time into this festival, and because I already have my tickets, but now I don't know how to even get in. The organisation suggested that I take a camping chair with me, which I do own, but I need to squat to get into it which will also just destroy my body before I'm even in the festival. I'm still asking my friends if they have any solutions, but so far i just feel really hurt that castlefest seems to care so little about the disabled people that I've seen on the grounds for many years.
