Everything ends up being a problem for ME: Can anybody tell me if Transfer Credits Hurt My Chances for a Master's in the UK/EU?
I'm currently doing a BS in Computer Science at UoPeople and I'm trying to understand how my transfer credits might affect my chances of getting into a master's program in the UK or Europe.
Here's my situation:
- Total degree requirements: 120 credits
- Transferred credits: 72 credits (from Sophia and Coursera)
- Transferred courses:
- 19 General Education courses
- 6 Major courses
- Completed at UoPeople:
- 15 Major courses
- 1 General Education course
Some of the major courses I transferred instead of taking at UoPeople include:
- Database Systems II
- Web Programming II
- Operating Systems II
- English Composition II
- College Algebra
- Introduction to Statistics
My main concern is whether having 72 transfer credits (especially from Sophia/Coursera) could negatively impact my chances of being accepted into master's programs in the UK or EU.
I've seen people claim that a large number of transfer credits can be a problem, but I haven't found many real examples.
I'm particularly interested in hearing from people who:
- Graduated from UoPeople or similar online colleges with transfer credits
- Applied to master's programs in the UK or Europe
- Were accepted or rejected and know whether transfer credits played a role
Any real-world experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
