2009 Chevy Colorado 3.7L I5 - Passenger taillight assembly and passenger headlight acting very strange together
Today I had someone stop me and say my brake light was out. I stopped checked and saw the light was on but didn't get brighter when I hit the brakes. Went home and started diagnosing and found a bunch of weird issues with the lights all passenger side except one:
Passenger side outer parking light only works when the blinker is on, yet the driver side stays on even without the blinker. The inner passenger parking light works fine.
Passenger taillight assembly is all wacked out, brake and blinker light (tail lights) are both on but when I brake the brake light doesn't light up, when the blinker is on nothing happened, the reverse light doesn't come on when in reverse either.
Also the high beams only work in pass to flash mode they won't stay on.
Fog lamps work, interior lights work, driver side headlight is fine (besides permanent high beam function) driver side tail light assembly also works fine.
So I started by taking the passenger tail light assembly out taking the harness out where it connects to the full wiring harness and blowing into the connections. This made the blinker on the passenger side work, and the brake light come on but then I wiggled it a little and the brake light stopped working again.
Im completely stumped here. I keep seeing things about looking for a ground wire being loose and there "should" be a ground somewhere on the frame but I went under and traced the wire harness all the way back to the engine bay and didn't see anything.
If any of you guys have any idea whats going on or what I should try its much appreciated.
Context: already checked the bulbs they're all good, checked the entire fuse box and the fuses are all good too.
TL,DR: Passanger Tail lights are on but brake light, blinker, reverse light aren't turning on. Passenger side headlight is on but the outer light is off until the blinker is turned on. High beams only work in pass to flash mode on both sides.
