Never pictured myself driving a GM era Saab, always assumed these were just (very good looking) rebadged Malibu’s. Definitely learned that is far from true within the first couple hours of owning this.

Friend of mine was good friends with a Saab collector/enthusiast, and after his passing his partner decided to sell some of the cars that she knew she wouldn’t be driving. I told my friend I was looking to buy a cheap car to keep my Crosstrek out of the random hail storms we get here in Colorado Springs. He mentioned this car to me, and I knew the faded paint would be a perfect excuse to not worry about hail damage. Car has plenty of electrical quirks, the oh so common sometimes power door locks, oil leaks, and some suspension work needed. I don’t think I could’ve gotten a better car for the price though, even if I was warned this was his problem child 😂

First set of backroads I took this car on made me love it. Anyone who’s driven a non turbo Subaru at elevation knows the excitement I felt of having more than 5hp and a car that stuck flat to the road. Hit the car with some polish and ceramic wax, and actually got some of the paint to shine again. All of the flat surfaces are toast but the rest cleaned up great!

My new to me $1500 9-3
