I have an opportunity to get jaw surgery but am worried how it may change my face.

[Serious decision]

I have a slightly recessed jaw but my large chin covers it pretty well atleast from the front profile. The side profile changes from day to day ngl so Im not sure if my jawline actually looks bad or if its just fat. When I straighten my posture my jaw looks pretty chopped. For example, I had a dental imaging done to see my side profile to look at my jaw and it looked like kinda like frankline the turtle (this is the best way I could describe it). My cheeks have also been chubby just from how I was born even when I have been skinny so I have never had any cheekbones which probably contributes to this. My face looks like a circle and my temples are pretty wide and flat especially when I smile which is partly why I wanted to get the surgery.

I really want a better jawline and not have the risk of joint issues due to misalignment but to be honest I dont know if jaw surgery suits my face. My surgeon said I will roughly look how I look if I push my jaw slightly forward. When I did that, although I got a sharp jawline it made the lower part of my face go more outward than the upper part of my face kind of made it look like I had an underbite. It didnt only have an effect on my chin being pushed out (making me look like a crescent moon), but my bottom lip and cheeks were also affected. My bottom lip was pushed out which kind of made my lips look unproportionate. My lower jaw was pushed forward and my cheeks/face looked flat (Probably because I have wide temples).

My jaw also seemed to get slightly wider rather than my face being wider at the top and narrower at the bottom which makes my face look kind of flat and wide especially since I have wide temples.

Other than my worries of not having a jawline and the joint issues I am concerned about how I will age. I have heard if you have an underdeveloped jaw you may get jowls earlier which I already have despite being 18.

I have to make a decision soon but am unsure of what to do or if Ill actually look bad. Is it still possible to have a jawline if my jaw is slightly recessed and I choose to not go through with surgery? I am wondering who I should ask. I cant get another appointment with the surgeon since theyre very busy but is there any other medical person I can talk to?

Note: They can use a computer to generate how I would look after surgery but only after getting my braces put on. The issue is if I decide I dont like how it looks I will have to spend more money to undo the braces.
