Deceiving ceremony for toppers
Today I attended a student award ceremony in my district. The event was supposed to celebrate the achievements of Class 10 and 12 students.
I was really surprised by what I saw. The whole thing felt very political. Many of the speakers kept talking about how great the new B!P government is and how Bengal is now in good hands. They even invited a B!P MLA to speak. The MLA started raising slogans like "Jai Shri R@m" during the program. While there is nothing wrong with the slogan itself, it felt like it was being used in a political context at an event meant for students.
As a student, I thought the focus would be on education and the students receiving awards. Instead, a large part of the event seemed focused on politics. I believe a student award ceremony should be about celebrating students and their achievements, not promoting a political party.
