Will my TMJ disorder worsen after tooth extraction?

Question(s)

I (21) currently have an infected tooth on the first molar of my lower jaw. I think it has been the 3rd or 4th time my toothache came back since the pandemic and I was around 15-17 years old. We don't have enough money to get it treated that time.

Yesterday, I went to the dentist for the first time to get it checked and they said that root canal is not an option since I have an active TMJ so they'll proceed with tooth extraction. For the mean time, they cleaned my abscess and I was prescribed mefenamic acid and amoxicillin.

- I also had TMJ during the pandemic maybe because I was mostly using my left side to chew (due to my toothache). And I haven't gone to a TMJ specialist because it's expensive.

I just want to know if getting a tooth extraction will worsen my TMJ or what else I can do about this because I heard from someone that tooth extractions without implants can cause misalignments. I'm still a college student and would probably be able to afford these treatments after 3-5 years once I get a job. So, my only option is tooth extraction but I'm worried about my TMJ. Also, I still haven't had my wisdom teeth yet.

What should I do for now? Next month I can afford a consultation to a TMJ specialist but I won't have enough to get a tooth extraction.
