Polymaker ASA-CF08 breaking in the Bowden tube
Been running Polymaker ASA-CF08 for automotive exterior and interior parts and I have a love-hate relationship with it. Print quality is great and the color is a nice dark black, which is exactly what I want for car parts. But it consistently breaks inside the Bowden tube just before the extruder and kills a lot of time, and I've basically exhausted my ideas for fixing it.
What I've tried so far:
- Dried it thoroughly (multiple rounds, no improvement)
- Optimized every bend in the Bowden tube as much as possible, including using fixed radius tube guides to prevent kinking or sharp bends
I'm also running Siraya tech ASA-GF, which prints beautifully and has zero issues, but the color is too blue-gray, and it seems to be out of stock more often. It works on some of my parts matching faded black plastic.
These parts are all automotive. I'd love to find something that's as dark and neutral as the Polymaker without the brittleness headache.
Has anyone dealt with the CF08 brittleness issue and found a fix?
