Stop Calling People Transphobes Over a Headcanon (another Jax post)
Look, as a trans woman myself, I love good representation in media. But there has to be a line when it comes to forcing a trans identity onto characters who never actually confirm one. I've seen so many people here hootin' and hollerin' about Jax being trans and calling anyone who disagrees a "transphobe," despite the actual points being made. Nothing has been confirmed. It's all speculation. What really bothers me is that some of the evidence people point to boils down to "he likes feminine things" or "he doesn't fit traditional masculine stereotypes." That's not evidence that someone is trans. In fact, relying on those stereotypes feels pretty regressive. Until the creators actually confirm something, Jax being trans is a headcanon, not canon. And trying to pressure everyone else into using she/her pronouns for a character who has never identified that way comes across as performative at best and egg-cracking at worst.
