Should I play Everquest Live?

Hello!

Before I start, I want to say I have been a Tank/Supp (PAL, SHD, CLR, SHM, DRU) player of Everquest for about 6 years on P99 and TLPs. I have never tried Live because I hear from guildmates and EQ friends that it's not worth it due to how empty it is with boxing being a must have. I do not box, nor do I plan to. I'd much rather have real people than a party system like that. If I'd want a party system, I'd play Baldurs Gate.

The reason for asking this is because I have seen the new content and raids and think it looks cool. I have been through base EQ through Luclin so many times now and want something new. I have been waiting for EQL to come out, but the problem of playing base EQ is still something I'm not really interested in.

As someone who mostly plays tanks/supp, how far would I realistically go before hitting the boxing wall?

Is it worth it to play the end game raids and content?

Or should I stick with Frostreaver/Legends?

Is it truly as empty as my guild says it is?
