hi everyone! been a minute since i posted, but i picked up the game seriously about 3-4 months ago and have gotten properly hooked on it. my throw is really starting to gel, my average is steadily improving, and i've been able to get some good reps in long-format 501 league play. i think i'm ready for a new set of darts at this point in my progression!

i've figured out that i like the following characteristics in my darts:

* soft tip barrels - i like to be able to switch back and forth between soft and steel tip using conversion points, since i play a fair bit of both
* scalloped shape - i am a rear gripper and, after testing some of my leaguemates' darts, i find that either a rear or middle scallop helps my fingers settle into a consistent positioning
* "heavier" barrel weight (by soft tip standards) - i throw a 16g barrel right now (18-19g full setup weight). i might like something a touch heavier to offer a little more forgiveness, but i found the 22-24g steel tip barrels i tried out to be a bit heavy

with those characteristics in mind, i've narrowed it down to about 5-6 main options (ranked loosely by preference, but could pick any):

1. [s4 athena](https://global.s-darts.com/detail/000000027286/), 16.5g - a pain to import into the USA currently, but by far my favorite
2. [one80 alice law iii](https://www.dartshopper.com/one80-alice-law-iii-purple-90-soft-tip/), 20g
3. [shot tribal weapon 4](https://www.dartshopper.com/shot-tribal-weapon-4-90-soft-tip/), 20g
4. [winmau simon whitlock special edition](https://www.dartshopper.com/winmau-simon-whitlock-90-special-edition-soft-tip/), 22g
5. [flight faction blake kiel signature](https://flightfaction.com/collections/flight-faction-darts/products/player-series-blake-kiel-flight-faction-darts-soft-tip), 18.5g - i have thrown the steel tip variant of these and quite liked them. they are the least aesthetically pleasing to me though
6. [target japan black marque heracles](https://www.dartshopper.com/target-japan-black-marque-heracles-90-soft-tip/), 18g - i worry about having too much grip with these, and the scallop might be a bit of an awkward size for my grip

any idea which of these would be the best option for me, or if there's any i neglected to mention that i might get on well with? or is it really more of a question of looks once i've narrowed it down this far?

thanks :)

help picking new darts as i settle into the game?
