Off escitalopram after 5 years and brain zaps

Hi, I’m on my fourth day without escitalopram today. I’ve been on 10mg daily for around 5 years, and I spent the last two weeks taking only 5mg under my psychiatrist’s orders, though I don’t think that’s much of a taper. I started getting brain zaps today. I’m not a stranger to them, but I’ve never had to endure them for long periods of time. I’ve read somewhere that they go away after roughly 2-3 weeks. Will they get worse? Is there a way to relieve this without having to go back on escitalopram? Do I just have to thug it out? Appreciate any advice
