Overly Apologizing

"Hey, I'm sorry I didn't come to your event. I had already mentioned that I would be visiting family over the weekend"

"It's okay, I understand. How was your visit?"

"The visit was fine. It's been a while since I saw my family. And I don't want to create more strained relationships, so like I said earlier, I am sorry. I know how this party meant to you"

"And I also said that it's okay. You know family is closer, since you've grown with them..."

"I still feel indebted to this friendship, so I want you to understand that I apologize. I'll try to make it up to you"

*sigh*
