I am working on a series of paintings about the songs that women sing while they work. This seems to be something that happens all over the world.

I found this song on youtube. [**https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vuDoXhz1CeM&list=RDKlS\_uxV50\_c&index=2**](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vuDoXhz1CeM&list=RDKlS_uxV50_c&index=2)

**A**s far as I understood, it is called "Hees-Hawleedda Mooyaha"

The translation that Google made goes like this

The lyrics in somali I found [here](https://groups.google.com/g/gahidh/c/CGQ0F-BnJh0/m/y23uklt_QycJ). At least from what I can hear it seems to be right lyrics.

Is there a generous soul that can help me understand the lyrics better? What it means in a greater sense, it seems to tell a story, but I cannot connect the dots. There is a lot of culture there that I can sense but don't understand. By the way, what are they pounding? Can you tell?

The video reminded me of when I pounded coffee at my uncle's farm with my cousin. We pounded, roasted and ground coffee that was grown right there. I am a city woman, but I understand - a little bit - how hard the work is.

Thank you so much for reading this. If you can help me I'll be forever grateful.

Mahadsanid, gacaliye!

    Dear, dear - dear
    My right hand - dear
The camel that disappeared - dear
The shoulder that was pulled - dear
Will the camel come out with you - dear
And the short riyad - dear
And the pair of girths - dear
    The short gun - dear
And the sheep that is cut - dear

That is what I have - dear
You have another one - dear

We are a scoundrel - dear
We are a cloud - dear
The sun is shining - dear
People are those who are there - dear
And the tail is long - dear

    A girl was a girl - dear
    I was a girl - dear
The general would have loved me - dear
My father had a white beard - dear
    I knew that I was a shepherd - dear

Now I am tired - Dear
Once you are hungry - dear
When you are thirsty - dear
And you are in front of me - dear
You will become a mother - dear
You will not refuse a mother - dear
Mother, put a mother in my womb - dear
Let me be loved - dear
That is what I am - dear
You are the one who has it - dear
    Our daughters - dear
    Garasweyne falls - dear
The tree where you are born - dear
May I not lose you - dear
You will not lose me - dear
    Without success - dear
    Without bad luck - dear
That is what I am - dear
You are the one who has it - dear
    Dance together - dear
    Bride together - dear
Bride together - dear - dear
Let's slap each other - dearDear, dear - dear
    My right hand - dear
The camel that disappeared - dear
The shoulder that was pulled - dear

I'm a Brazilian painter that is seeking help into understanding a song and the culture that is linked to it
