How do you ask for deposits without scaring clients away?
I'm struggling with asking clients for deposits and could use some advice.
Whenever I mention a deposit to secure a booking, a lot of clients disappear or stop replying. I know deposits help protect my time and reduce no-shows, but I feel like I'm scaring away genuine clients too.
How do you bring up deposits without making people run? Do you ask upfront, after screening, or only once they've picked a time? What wording has worked best for you? Also, do you require deposits from everyone or only new clients?
Honestly, I could also really use a mentor, coach, or even just a friend who's been through this and doesn't mind answering questions while I'm figuring things out. Once I finally get my first successful deposit because of your help, I'd be happy to send you a thank-you fee for your time.
I'd really appreciate any advice or support. Thanks in advance. ❤️
