Is it a good idea to continue this relationship ?
Hello. I (M24) matched her (F22) on a dating app more than a month ago and I’m already questionning myself concerning the idea of carrying on with this relationship.
She’s passionate about a lot of things in her life but she definitely got some issues with maintaining good friendship/relationship with other people. She explains it by the fact that she had toxic boyfriends and overall, she never felt the need to be close to someone. We can only see each other once per week and she’s not very talkative by text when it comes to discuss about us or anything else.
I would not describe myself as an obssesive person nor do I demonstrate « love » if I don’t feel the need to (we saw each other 4 times lol), but to her I feel to clingy too fast and « normally » she needs at minimum 6 months for something to light up in her. That seem unrealistic to me and what got me confused is that we already slept together two times, mostly launched by her initiative, but the rest of the time she despise physical touch or tenderness, whether its holding hands, me laying a hand on her or simply hugging.
Last time we talked, I expressed to her my discomfort about her having hard time navigating her social life and the fact that she still respond to her ex that wants her back. After that, she texted me that I freaked her out about the way I closed myself learning she wont hear about my boundaries, she wants to go backward as if its the first time we each other if we date again.
My issue is : I know perfectly well everything screams redflag, but I can’t stop thinking of her or the next time we will meet. I feel like I’m a dispensable hobby, and being on that edge pushes me to chase her more. I know that for my wellbeing, I should just stop this relationship before it gets harder but I feel like it’s the only thing that keeps me afloat on everyday life.
TLDR : Wondering if I should end a relationship with a emotionally distant/unavailable person or if its best if I give them time while maintaining my mental health ?
