Grumpy from Pain + Trauma
Hi! I am 23 and have cEDS. I live with my parents for now (hopefully not forever) and I just am wondering how other people handle not only the trauma-resurfacing and dynamics from childhood resurfacing but also being grumpy from the pain.
for context, both of my parents are almost 60, so their bodies aren’t exactly pain-free either.
I don’t want to make my mom upset because it makes me feel worse, but I’m exhausted and just end up snapping at her. there’s things she does or asks that make life harder for me and it’s hard not to be angry, but if I get angry then she will huff and get upset too, which will make me feel worse lol
communicating with her feels difficult, but technically better than when I was a child. and sometimes that resentment comes up (like how she used to have me walk home from school because she didn’t want me on “the short bus” in case it got me bullied 🫠 which she feels bad about now, but hard to ignore the ways my invisible feelings are put to the side even as an adult). how do you cope with this in your experience?
