Blue
She asked me what’s the colour of my blood
I held my breath for a second and said,
“It’s blue, my love”.
She thought I was teasing her
because she hated blue
but In reality,
I loved the hue.
I loved the way her face changed,
her eyes rolling in despair,
her chin lifting slightly
as she stared at me.
“Why blue ?”, she asked
I murmured,
“It’s the sky, the water, your eyes,
the blue-leafed nicotine,
the blue rolling paper…”
And everything blue-
reminded me of her.
She was mesmerised,
caught within my disguise,
lost between the blues
hidden deep inside my eyes.
She couldn’t help but wonder
how love could feel so addictive-
that’s why she was my blue….
