We worked with celebrity stylist Britt Theodora (she styled Pete Davidson's Met Gala look and works with Kevin Bacon and Elliot Page) on a concept she calls "Energy Styling" — and one specific hack she demonstrated was getting three distinct looks from a single Hawaiian shirt on a long weekend trip.

Here's the breakdown:

**Look 1 — Open Layer (Daytime)**

* Shirt unbuttoned, worn open over a solid tank top
* Swim trunks or casual shorts underneath
* Add a chain or pendant at the open neckline
* Vibe: beach-town exploring, boardwalk coffee, shopping

**Look 2 — Buttoned Casual (Afternoon)**

* Same shirt buttoned up (top button undone), sleeves rolled once
* Clean chino shorts + white sneakers
* Vibe: boat tour, afternoon drinks, town sightseeing

**Look 3 — Tucked Smart (Evening)**

* Same shirt fully buttoned and front-tucked or full-tucked
* Linen pants or longer chino shorts + leather belt + loafers
* Vibe: resort dinner, rooftop bar, date night

The key to making it work: choose a medium-scale print in 2-3 colors that pair with neutrals, and a camp collar (the open, notched lapel style). Camp collars look good both open and buttoned without getting stiff.

For fabric: rayon/viscose drapes well and resists wrinkles. Linen-cotton blends breathe better but crease more.

The math: one shirt handles three outfit slots in your suitcase. Combine it with 2 solid tees, a linen button-down for backup, and 3 pairs of shorts/pants — and you've got a carry-on-sized wardrobe for nearly a week.
