Needle size for various parts of the ear

Hi everyone, I am planning to pierce my helix and add some new lobe piercings. Up until now I have only had lobe piercings but they have been done with a gun a while ago. I want to do it properly this time so I'm looking into piercing needles. I know that the standard for helix is 16g, so I'm wondering if this is okay for lobes as well?

I have jewelry (titanium) in both 18g and 16g (this is the size I'll use for my helix) and I was going to put the 18g into my lobes, will this cause any issues with healing? What's your experience? Also, If I want to put 18g jewelry into my helix later on, when it heals, it should be fine except for the possible shrinkage (which I'm fine with), right?
