Hello everyone!

I am currently working on a project that solves a problem many of us know: keeping track of food and emergency supplies and knowing what is about to expire.

\## The Problem

Many people store supplies and then forget about them. When an emergency happens or the supplies are actually needed, they often discover that a large part of the stock has already expired.

Many existing solutions:

\- cost money

\- store your data in the cloud and raise privacy concerns

\- do not work fully offline

\- are complicated or inconvenient to use

\## My Solution: PrepTrack

PrepTrack is a Progressive Web App that works completely offline. All personal data is stored locally on your own device.

\## Main Features

📱 \*\*Barcode Scanner\*\*

Scan products directly with your smartphone camera.

🔔 \*\*Smart Expiry Notifications\*\*

Receive alerts before a product reaches its best-before date.

🌐 \*\*Works 100% Offline\*\*

After installation, no internet connection is required.

🔐 \*\*Privacy First\*\*

All data is stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB.

📊 \*\*Clear Dashboard\*\*

Get a visual overview of all your stored supplies.

💾 \*\*Backup and Export\*\*

Export your data as JSON or CSV files.

🌍 \*\*Six Languages\*\*

German, English, Portuguese, Arabic, Italian and French.

🌙 \*\*Dark Mode\*\*

Available for users who prefer a darker interface.

🔄 \*\*LAN Synchronization\*\*

Optional synchronization between devices on the same local network.

\## Tech Stack

\- Dexie.js as an IndexedDB wrapper

\- Workbox for service workers and caching

\## PWA Features

\- Complete offline-first architecture

\- Optional background synchronization

\- Local notifications

\- 92 out of 100 points in the PWA audit

\## Why I Am Sharing This

I built this PWA because I needed a simple and privacy-friendly way to manage my own supplies.

PrepTrack is completely free and open source.

\## TL;DR

PrepTrack is a free and open-source PWA for managing food and emergency supplies. It works completely offline, scans barcodes, warns you before products expire and stores all data locally on your device.
