Bassoon 1 part in Stravinsky's Rake's Progress thoughts?

Recently got a gig to do bassoon 1 in Stravinsky's Rake's Progress.. saw the imslp score... it seems very bassoon 1 heavy and almost always playing solo or solistic chamber music with a few musicians. Anyone has experience with this and any advice? Might not take up the gig ... seems too tiring for the amount of remuneration, thoughts?
