How long will info about missing persons will remain in the NCIC database if the case was closed and leads were exhausted?

So to briefly summarize, my parents reported me missing in 2025 and stated there I have an intellectual disability. So I requested a copy of that report and I noticed that the case was reclassified as a check on the welfare.

The other thing is, earlier in 2026, my ex called the cops on me and made allegations that were insinuating (according to police). That case concluded with her being warned of harassment if any contact or surprise visits were made. I should add that she is from a different state and jurisdiction. So I requested the body cam footage of that and noticed the police said he checked the NCIC database and my info was still on there. He said the only information he was able to find of me in NCIC was that my parents reported me missing, I have a disability, and all that. I can’t confirm or deny whether he was able to pull up the police report and view its content on his laptop. Because the body cam footage was all redacted.

So I have 3 questions:

  1. How long will a missing persons report remain in a NCIC database after the case was closed leads exhausted?

  2. Why is my info from other jurisdictions within the NCIC database still accessible if the case was closed Leads exhausted and the call was reclassified as a check on the welfare?

  3. Is there any way I can permanently erase my name from NCIC? I don’t want anyone knowing about my disability.
