On January 10, 2024, Category-4 Kaiju Insurrector emerged from the Breach, headed to Los Angeles, United States, and changed course to Santa Monica, which had not been evacuated.

Upon arriving, it stood over the Santa Monica Pier and crushed it in half, being immediately punched in the face by the American Mark-4 Hydra Corinthian (Piloted by Kennedy LaRue & Stephanie Lanphier), who was being backed up by the Austrian Mark-4 Demon Slaughter.

Insurrector was a quadrupedal Kaiju with dark gray skin and four eyes on each side of its head. The characteristic bioluminescent glow of Kaiju Blue was emitted from behind its eyes, mouth, and numerous cracks in its skin. Its mouth was full of sharp teeth and it had a flat, wide, and irregular snout, with its chin having an upward-curving tip. Its head sported two enormous horns that curved backwards and smaller horns on the top of its head. The Kaiju's back had spike-like protrusions that run from its neck to the beginning of its thick tail, having a body supported by its hind legs and its long front limbs, which like some Kaiju have a hollow cavity in the forearm and end in enormous hands with thumbs and three more fingers, all with sharp claws.

Insurrector did not appear interested in pursuing the humans, preferring to dedicate its efforts to destroying the infrastructure of cities, evident when it ignored the people on the pier and continued towards the city even under attack. In combat, it used its massive arms to claw and strike at its opponents, and it also had hide that was tough enough to survive a barrage of Anti-Kaiju Missiles and continue fighting.

The Kaiju began to strike with its hind limbs at the two Mark-4s, which blocked them with its forearms and the duo held the beast off until the arrival of the Australian Mark-5 Jaeger Striker Eureka (Piloted by Jaune Arc & Pyrrha Nikos).

Insurrector was held by the horns by Hydra and Demon, and took an uppercut from Striker Eureka, being knocked down shortly after. The creature got up and managed to bring the fight to the city, being knocked into a building by a blow from Hydra’s arm blades and Demon’s shoulder-mounted flamethrower, getting back up again and taking a volley of at least three Anti-Kaiju Missiles from Striker.

But during the fight, Insurrector destroyed Demon Slaughter by ramming one of its huge horns into the Conn-Pod, and tragically killed both Pilots. This enraged the pilots of the 2 remaining Jaegers, who set about brutally beating the hell out of the large Kaiju, determined to avenge their colleagues.

In the final moments of the fight, Insurrector had one of his horns broken and was punched in the face by Striker and Hydra while Demon’s corpse sank into the ocean. The Kaiju was eventually driven back to the Santa Monica Pier and finally killed by Striker Eureka and Hydra Corinthian.

Demon Slaughter was the first of 22 Jaegers to be destroyed in 2024, the others being Rio Sentry, Guardian Bravo, Bering Tigress, Oblivion Turbulence, Strider Zeta, Butterfly Sword, Echo Marauder, Chrome Brutus, Shaolin Rogue, Diablo Intercept, Silver Lion, Sea Dragon, Azure Defiant, Puma Real, Echo Saber, Eden Assassin, Chaos Nemesis, Horizon Brave, Raven Prime, Mustang Omega and Tacit Ronin.

Among the casualties of its attack was the family of a ten year old, Amara Namani, who was separated from them when Insurrector smashed the pier in half, collapsing the structure.
