Context for title: Magna Carta was a treaty thingy forcefully signed by King John so that he'd stop harassing his barons. Simplified, of course.

First image: literally just little England and John, specifically from the movie The Lion In Winter which is more so about his parents and their messed up family life rather than him entirely. Absolute banger movie btw, would recommend. Also ignore England's shit anatomy I didn't wanna fix it cuz I can't draw front facing legs.

Second slide: after John's dumbass lost Normandy and (I think also) Aquitaine (both important French land previously owned by England), he got mad paranoid over the possibility of France taking even more land and started some more wars with them.

Third slide: John hated the barons and the barons hated John. Self explanatory in the conversation. I was inspired by that one "ok Mario no Mario" meme.

Fourth slide: John hated Philip II of France, the guy who took back French land from England. The dialogue was inspired by the "that fucking bird that I hate" audio.

Honestly, I think it would be awesome if we ever got episodes/webcomics/whatever where the Hetalia countries would interact with their bosses, specifically anyone from before 1900. Anything beyond that year would not be a good idea, pretty sure everybody knows why. I remember Henry VIII and Juana of Castile each appeared in one episode for barely a minute, but that's pretty much it from them. If history with the countries' bosses is too ugly for a comedy like Hetalia, just having the bosses in the background would be cool too. Obviously I'm not condoning anything leaders like John did, I just think explaining history with Hetalia countries is pretty fun.

Also if I got anything wrong in the explanations for each image, feel free to correct me.

On this day 811 years ago, King John of England signed the Magna Carta. To honor this day, I drew kid England interacting John + some explanations about John since I adore Hetalia England and England's medieval history
