Is it immoral to have kids?
This thing's been on my mind for a while. I think there's a good amount of people on this sub who would agree.
First of all why am I calling it immoral. To call it immoral it must be harmful to an individual with no reciprocation.Punishing a murderer isn't immoral because he is being reciprocated for the harm he's caused.
If we look at life in general most kids live extremely miserable and overall unhappy lives, although it varies by geography and economic status but it still holds for the majority of the world.
Many kids don't have access to good education, healthcare, shelter. These are very obvious things. On the other hand most parents aren't mentally equiped to raise a human being . It takes extreme emotional intelligence, sympathy and understanding to raise a child. It requires attention and financial literacy.
Also considering the state of the world. The rising climate change, reducing freedom of speech and religious intolerance. Moreover, a child cannot miss out on anything as he will not even exist. Rather than bringing new life why not help millions of orphans in the world who do need their support.
There are many other variables but this post would be too long. I would love to hear ur thoughts
