Ideal of Med Hair Transplant
I just got back from Istanbul after getting my hair transplant with ideal of med. The experience was very good. The entire team of ideal of med really went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable during the entire procedure. From initial consultation, I knew what to expect. The driver was waiting for me at the airport as they stated. Everything was meticulously arranged.
My hair thinning has been an issue since I was 21 which was exacerbated by hair products and hats. I exhausted all medical options. So after doing plenty of research on Reddit I found three names that stood out over and over again. Ideal of Med which is a company with Swedish investors and they utilize advanced technology for hair transplant procedure. Specially sapphire FUE which was all explained to me on my first ever consultation with their coordinating team. He provided n in depth information about the company their goals and what to expect in my hair restoration journey.
They created WhatsApp group dedicated to me after my initial deposit. They detailed everything as to what to do and what expect in the pre op, surgical day and post op phase. Not a lot of hair mills do that; most have no preop recommendations and no post op follow up.
Day of surgery my transport was waiting for me. After light breakfast at the 5 star hotel. I was ushered away to the clinic which is very well kept and super clean! I met with 2 doctors and their entire time. They did a consultation and recommended maximum graft harvesting to restore my hair line and add density to mid scalp.
The surgeon performs the most important parts of the procedure and the technicians assist. This was very important to me because plenty of other Turkish facilities are cheap but the procedure is performed entirely by techs. Ideal of med the surgeon was there at bedside initially performing the vital procedure and then technicians were directed on what to do. These technicians were great at their job. The most difficult part of the entire procedure was the initial local anesthesia. The surgeon ensured he anesthetized all sensitive areas. I was pain free for the procedure itself They were able to harvest 5100 grafts for my transplant.
Second day I had my wash at the clinic, I was provided with detailed instructions again on what to do post procedure. They provide everything: antibiotics, pain medications, plus post op care with clear instructions foam, shampoo and an additional free sample shampoo.
I am currently post op day 3 and have minimal swelling after following their directions + taking prescribed meds. I am provided with instructions, great follow up with the team in a dedicated WhatsApp group.
Will keep you all updated on my progress!
