A7 IV → A7R VI worth it for a hobby photographer?

Gear

Hi all,

I'm currently using a Sony A7 IV and thinking about upgrading to the A7R VI.

I'm a hobby photographer and already have a few GM lenses. I shoot a bit of everything: travel, landscapes, wildlife/safaris, everyday photography, and occasionally some documentary-style video.

The A7R VI looks great on paper, but I'm wondering how much of a difference it makes in real-world use compared to the A7 IV.

The camera would be within my budget, so the question is less about affordability and more about whether the upgrade is actually worth it. The A7 IV is also my first camera, so I don't have much experience upgrading camera bodies, which makes it a bit harder for me to judge the real-world benefits.

Has anyone made this switch? Was it worth it? Did you notice a big difference in image quality, autofocus, or overall shooting experience?

I know it's ultimately up to me to decide, but I'd love to hear some real-world opinions and experiences from people who have used both.

Thanks!
