Bf broke up with me bc he lost interest, I’m so lost on how to move forward.

My (now ex) bf (M21) of 2.5 years broke up with me (F21) over disappearing messages on Instagram and he shared he’s losing interest in me because of the last of time we spend together and because he thinks we are better off as friends. For content we’re long distance during the school semester and during our breaks (when he’s back home in my area) we can’t hang out every day because my parents won’t let me. At most we would hang out 1-2 times a week for a few hours and that’s not enough for him. I’ve made it clear since the beginning of our relationship and when we were considering a break 1 year into our relationship.

The fact that I had to pry it out of him because our conversation today he was basically sharing that he lost feelings and thinks we’re better off friends. And that he doesn’t think or wants to resolve the issue. But he didn’t say it and kept beating around the bush until I had to bring it up myself. I dropped off all his gifts and letters and he texted me why I did that but I haven’t replied yet.

I feel so blindsided and hurt. I’m not sure what to do, I still want him back but I know that may not be the best for me. I’m upset he suddenly switched up on me even though it’s something I can’t control and I have made it clear since the beginning. And the fact that it came out of nowhere. It’s been 3 days and I’ve broke no contact each day and he finally blocked me yesterday after I tried to convince him to give us another try.
