Got my license 3 years ago, still bad at driving
hi guys im a 20f and i got my driving license since 2023, from 2023-2025 i rarely drive because i was in uni and didnt need to drive much (used public transport)... so i finished my uni in 2026 and im back at my hometown, so my dad wants to me to improve my driving skills since i didnt really drive much back then.
So ive been practicing for months and months, and there is always someone beside me to guide/observe my driving.. i dont know why i cant improve my driving.. like i keep making rookie/silly mistakes, im confused on the road (faded road markings and weird places to turn).
Ive only drove solo once, and that was a pretty simple straightforward route.
Whenever my dad/mom/ anyone sit beside me while im driving, theres always something to comment. i cant really blame them bcs my driving is not really great, but sometimes i get tired of listening to it, and its realllly affecting my confidence. I got yelled and shouted so many times, and i always hold my tears back. I try remembering their advice and previous comments on my driving so i dont make the same mistake, but theres always a new mistake i make when i drive.
I dont know how my brother drives so smoothly, i envy him alot. I want to be able to drive anywhere alone without inconveniencing others, but i myself am not confident enough to be on the road alone.
+ i feel stressed out when a car is close behind me, makes me feel like im slow and inconveniencing them and i panic (in my brain) when theres traffic, whenever i make my own road decisions, my dad questions me on it and he'd say "you didnt have to go to the next lane, you could've stayed on this lane" or there is always something he'll say, so im like losing confidence on making my own decisions.
What can i do, how do improve from here onwards.
