EA being EA with squad battles?

(I came back like 3 days ago cuz the extra version of the game only cost 23 on Xbox.)

I loved playing squad battles in the previous FIFA's because they were fairly easy since you could choose the difficulty and gain good packs for SBCs (among with quite a few coins every week.).

But after getting the rewards in gold 1 I noticed I only got fof tokens and after a quick check I realized you only get them. I maybe dumb but to me it just seems like EA doesn't want you playing squad battles and instead rivals, rush etc. So you get frustrated more often and are more willing to pay for packs.
