My eyes have been opened to a world of possibilities… who else like a big comfy base camp setup?

Hey all! Long time lurker.

I’m a rock climber before I consider myself to be a camper. I’ve always just seen camping as a means to an end - a way to get close to climbing for cheap and lay my head out of the weather.

Normally, I camp at a site I can drive up to, but always brought bare essentials. A 1 or 2 person tent, a ridge-rest, a sleeping bag, clothes, toiletries, and a single burner camp stove with cookware. Most of the fellas I climbed with did the same.

Then, enter… call him Joe. Joe brought a 6 person tent with a vestibule and mat, two rocking chairs, a cot, a nightstand, dirty laundry hamper, and shower hanger. I thought it was excessive… for maybe 20 minutes. Now, I’m sold.

Does anyone else have any gear recommendations for cozy base camp setups like that?
