What is your alarm clock bird?
I live in Reno, NV. Since it is warming up here I like to keep my window open at night when it cools off so I don't have to run the AC at night. That being said, I work a warehouse job where I start anywhere from 6am to 8am, volume depending. Like clockwork, I get... treated? Blessed? Cursed? However you want to put it to early morning bird calls. And I get a nice little diversity here. I get House Sparrows and House Finches regularly, occasionally I'll hear Lesser Goldfinches and American Robins, Mourning Doves, Crows, and California Quails, and recently I've been hearing White-crowned Sparrows. But, without fail, at 5am EVERY MORNING... a couple of Steller's Jays awaken me from my slumber. And with a nice tree right by my open window, that is better than any alarm clock you can have. And the corvids are my favorite family, but at 5am when I still want a little more sleep, the Steller's Jays and I aren't on the greatest of terms right now.
That brings me to my question: what bird(s) act as your alarm clock in the morning? And how do you feel about it/them?
