Haven’t played since December- tldr of the drama? Is the game worth picking back up?

I kinda just stopped playing Nikki for this whole year 😅 I’ve been getting the fashionista itch again tho, and I was thinking of playing again. However… now I’m seeing a ton of drama about censorship? Can someone give me the cliffs notes of the drama and let me know if it’s worth playing again or if I should give it more time? Like, are they editing already-purchased clothes? What’s happening?

As for why I stopped playing- I was a huge whale, I just kinda got tired of never having any pants and buying all those dresses every month. So I went and played Monster Hunter for a while, because that game gives you pants. And the pants in Monster Hunter are free lol. Nothing against Nikki, I just wasn’t feeling it. But I’m starting to want to play Nikki again maybe.

Just wanted to know what’s going on tho. It seems like a huge situation. Feels like that gif where the guy is holding the pizza box and everything is on fire lol.
