What if you woke up in the Vatican wearing a cardinal's cassock and everyone insisted you belonged there?

CONCLAVE AD ABSURDUM is a short satirical novel about Leone, a U.S. Senator who wakes up in Domus Sanctae Marthae during a papal conclave and discovers that nobody questions his presence among the cardinals.

As the election drags on, Leone finds himself navigating Church politics, eccentric princes of the Church, ancient traditions, theological debates, and a mystery connected to a witch from Avignon.

Think Kafka meets a conclave, with a touch of magical realism and a lot of affection for the people inside the Church.

The novel does not mock faith or spirituality. The satire is aimed at politics, institutions, and the very human tendency to take ourselves too seriously.

I'd be curious to hear what readers think of the premise.
