Referral Denied by Specialist?!

I'm so peeved right now. I've been having disruptive new symptoms. I had a reaction to mango a month and a half ago— my entire body started itching along with my mouth and throat. Thought it was not mango related and it happened a second time 😅 since then, I've been getting the full body itchiness again almost every day. Only relieved by high Zyrtec dose. Inconvenient! But now, I'm reacting to other fruits. Strawberries, kiwis, watermelon, apples... every one I eat really.

My primary care provider is concerned about MCAS so she wants me to see an allergist. Sent a referral. I didn't get a phone call for weeks. I called them today and the office says they denied the referral, because it didn't seem necessary. I'm so discouraged and upset. I already have a severely limited diet due to gastroparesis and this is just making it worse. But apparently, it's not good enough for a specialist 🫪
