How did you win custody for your kids?

I have a 2yo daughter who is literally the love of my life. I wanted to be her dad since I was 11 years old. But my marriage has been struggling since she was born. The problem isn't my daughter but how we are unable to work together in caring for our daughter.

I'm single breadwinner and I can't get a job or do business in this country (tell u later which country this is) because people here just don't like foreigners. Not just happening to me but to all my foreign friends here (unless you wanna work in chicken farms, convenience stores, or clean the dishes). So family living on my savings. And my wife is reluctant to get a job even though she's local.

Anyway, I'm trying to move abroad and start a better life but wife refuses to move.

I've been active in caregiving and not as active as wife cos I'm also running a business overseas (no revenue yet). Toddler is going to pre-school where I make breakfast, send her and pick her up and go play outdoor. My wife has like 8 hours of completely free time but not willing to help with income.

I've contacted a few lawyers and the legal system doesn't seem to favor me at all - burden of proof is on me.

I wonder, how did you win custody for your child?
