After you've talked for a while, ask about the payment method (if money is involved).

- Gift cards

- Gaming cards (Razer Gold, Steam, etc.)

- Other prepaid cards

Treat it as a scam and end the conversation there.

If a legitimate in-person arrangement is being discussed, insist on paying in cash at the time of meeting in a safe, public place. Most genuine people will not ask for gift cards or prepaid codes.

Remember: once gift card codes are sent, the money is usually impossible to recover.
