Carrera Hybrid App – Download Failed & 502 Bad Gateway errors (first-time setup)

Just got my Carrera Hybrid set while traveling in Madrid and tried setting it up back home in Kuwait — ran into two issues on first-time setup that others might be experiencing too:
Issue 1: Download Failed
Right after opening the app, it tries to download something (firmware?) and immediately fails with a “Download failed!” error.
Issue 2: Cannot Add Car (502 Bad Gateway)
When trying to add a car under Available Cars, I get:
• “The car could not be added, please contact Support.”
• a second message : HTTP/1.1 502 Bad Gateway
What I tried:
• Different Wi-Fi networks
• Mobile data
• Reinstalling the app
Not sure if the region (Kuwait) plays any role, but the 502 error strongly suggests this is a server-side issue on Carrera/Sturmkind’s end rather than a regional restriction.
I’ve contacted their support and waiting for feedback

Anyone else affected? Especially curious if others outside Europe are having issues.
