I plan to get a Model 3 after owning a i4 M50

I personally love BMW, their cars are great. When I first got the M50, I was blown away by the performance and build quality. Everything felt well put together and firm. However, as time elapsed.. My views slowly, began to shift.

One of my immediate first notices is the range. Obviously I bought the M50, that is certainly not the car for range. But, I mean this little range for almost 80K? A full charge nets me 219 miles. I really dont drive at all as I mainly WFH. But when I do the car lasts me for maybe 3 days? Before I have to run to the nearest charger and plug it in, which brings me to my next point.

Chargers. Im a huuuuge fan of the Tesla Super Charger network. Now I know BMW finally announced their partnership with the network, and with an adapter and the tesla app your set to charge there. But thats not the case with me. I have the tesla app installed and selected I own a BMW i4, it wont let me charge in any tesla chargers nearby. I switched to Mercedes, and other EV brands and still no luck. There's only a handful of stations near me that are over 120W that are CCS1. If their working too.

So not a fan of the charging situation with very few options to charge from. And I live in an apartment, so cant set up a station here.

My third thing is keyless entry. I mean full keyless entry. I love how Teslas you keep your phone in your pocket, and your set. No need to unlock or click anything. I dont like the idea of carrying keys to lock and unlock the car. Im aware that BMW has keyless entry, but its outdated. Meaning youd have to physcially grab your phone, tap it with your door handle (half the time it works), then sit inside, slide your phone into the charger and have it make contact, then you can turn it on.

For an $80,000 car, dont you think thats kinda unnecessary?

so TL;DR

I prefer Teslas longer range, way more accesible charging networks, and their ease of use with the car. Having cooled seats is great (Not interested in spending almost $2K in a bmw for just cooled seats), having way way more control of the car via the app, self driving, and more.

I know some of you left Tesla for BMW and Vice versa, but I myself really value convenience and technology and Tesla looks to be checking more boxes for me than BMW!
