Mother and son run away from abusive husband, they go west because she wants her son to see the ocean for the first time. Midway, their car breaks down. And they get help from a guy who has a daughter. He had an open heart surgery as a baby, but they fell in love. They get married and continue their journey the 4 of them together. They arrive at he coast of California, and in the first morning of getting there, he sits on the sand and dies looking at the ocean.
