Should I become a Christian?How?
I have always been interested in Christianity and its culture. I enjoy going to church, feeling peaceful when listening to gospel songs, and being inspired and moved when reading some passages from the Bible. I believe in the existence of Jesus Christ and think that I love Him and that He loves us too. But this is only a part of it. On the other hand, I grew up in China where there wasn't much of a Christian environment. Leaving aside the education based on materialism, Chinese people also have the tradition of worshipping ancestors. And even if one is not a Buddhist, many people will visit Buddhist temples and the shrines of famous figures. The problem is that while I acknowledge Christ, it seems difficult for me to say that another culture or tradition is wrong. If I were asked not to do what I did before, I couldn't firmly refuse from the bottom of my heart; but if I were to do those things again, I would start to have concerns. Also, I have doubts about many doctrines—such as the idea of original sin and opposition to the LGBTQ+ community—some because they contradict my original values, and others because no one has ever told me I was guilty. Should I study them or it will just naturally become my belief? In a way, I have doubts about becoming a true Christian, yet I am drawn to Jesus Christ. How should I discern all of this?If I become a Christian officially, will life still completely change though now I've already believe in the existing of Jesus?
