Inequality
I’m in my 40s and perimenopausal. I’ve heard this stage of life opens your eyes to things you’ve tolerated before.
I am a working mom who makes money and does everything for the home. It’s what my mom did and I didn’t know better. My mil babied my husband and I’ve been trying for years to avoid that scenario with my kids.
I have three teen boys who are mostly blind to everything until I get upset. Same with husband. I’ve done chore charts, punishments, rewards, etc for their entire lives but nothing changes. It doesn’t change because my husband doesn’t lift a finger unless I ask. But I am not his mother, and this household is ours together.
Why does “Christian wife” = maid, nanny, cook, sex worker?
I’m overwhelmed and cannot focus on the good because everything is my “job.”
Why are men the “head of the household” but more like the “boss who does nothing but bring in a paycheck”. And let me remind you: I also bring in a paycheck. I was just born a woman so I can’t sit on my butt when I get home.
